In 1995, after his stint with the band Little Angels and the subsequent disbanding due to various challenges, Toby Jepson ventured into a solo career. This new chapter was marked by deep reflection and an exploration of new creative paths, diverging significantly from his previous work. The culmination of this period was an album that stood as a distinct, home-grown project, featuring a blend of experimental and honest soundscapes.
Fast forward to April 2020, amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic, Toby decided to re-release this project on his own record label, ‘Jepsongs Recordings’. This reissue was not just a music album, but a comprehensive ‘song book’ that includes 36 pages of production notes, stories, hand-drawn illustrations by his daughter Evelyn, lyrics, and detailed song explanations. The forward introduction was written by writer and long-time friend, David Gailbraith from Kerrang! This release aimed to re-establish the work as a significant chapter in Toby’s career, reflecting his enduring, albeit underground, influence in the rock music scene. It represents a 25-year journey that began with defiance and has continued with a commitment to authenticity and artistic bravery.
